DNA’s main function is to make RNA, which is what makes proteins that carry out a lot of the body’s functions. A mutation is caused by a mistake in the replication or transcription of DNA or RNA. This workshop teaches students the functional role of DNA and RNA in living organisms, learn the central dogma of biology, and identify the various errors that can occur during DNA replication and protein synthesis.
